Quesos Miguelito: Get to know the hosts of España Discovery

By the Riverside of the imposing Ebro river, in the town of Azagra, in Navarra, you can find a very interesting place that welcomes the most adventurous travellers of Europe and where you can taste some of the best cheese of the region. Quesos Miguelito -dedicated to the elaboration and merchandising of delicious artisan produce that will blow your mind. Nothing like a good cheese made with a family recipe!

The history of this stopover located in the border between Navarra and La Rioja -included in the motorhome tourism guide España Discovery 2023 starts in 1958 when the Martinez Ortiz family set a goal for themselves: To raise cattle in the urban center of Azagra. In 1987 the project moved to new facilities near Argadiel and, in 2005, family members built the cheese factory where they make some of the best cheese wheels of the region is made from the milk of their own cattle. The farm is currently in the able hands of the Martinez brothers: Mikel and Garbiñe, who will warmly welcome you and will show you the magic of the cheese making.

In the dairy farm Quesos Miguelito you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the cheese making process, and also get to participate in fun activities like taking a tour around the PDO Rioja vineyards, getting to know the riverside vegetable garden where veggies and orchards are watered by the Ebro River, see the Machín dam hydroelectric power station, and the San Esteban hermitage, all in a beautiful, completely natural environment.
