In the Alto Vinalopó county, situated in the northwest of Alicante province, itself belonging to the Comunidad Valenciana, you can find Finca Collado. This cellar is full of surprises for motorhome tourists from all over Europe, in it you can find a series of activities linked to enotourism and get to know the family history of the owners of the cellar related to the wine making culture of Alicante, of the township of Salinas, and Spain.
The Finca Collado cellar starts in the year 2003 but is reinvented in 2008 by Joan Guía and Samuel Castelló.
This premium stopover of the España Discovery has dedicated itself to developing their own harvest model and the elaboration of unique wines based on grapes that are well adapted to the Mediterranean climate and integrated in the “Designation of Origin” Alicante.
If you understand wine as one of the “pleasures” of life, “Finca Collado” is the perfect place to visit and explore aboard your motorhome or campervan and your España Discovery guide. In this cellar they work in harmony with nature, researching and developing new processes and combining them with ancestral elaboration methods. All of this originates an extensive catalogue of unique wines, like for example, the “Chardonnay + Moscatel”, the “Syrah + Monastrell”, “Flor Malvés Malvasia”, or the “El Va de Bo Bobal”.
Do you dare to taste all these great wines while you tour these century-old vineyards and spend the night in the winery aboard your motorhome or campervan?
Joan Guía, winemaker responsible for the cellar alongside Samuel Castelló, entrepreneur, business development manager and son of the owners, wanted from the beginning of the project to uncover the wine history of the county. To achieve this they started out by planting native varieties. They also started rehabilitating old and forgotten vineyards. It has been hard work that required time and effort. In fact, both professionals still continue this mission, an example of this is there having grown “Garnacha Blanca”, a grape variety almost extinct in the province of Alicante.
We invite you to know and visit this cellar, situated in an exceptional natural environment, where you’ll be able to relax, park your campervan or motorhome during 24 hours and get to know about premium winemaking with your own eyes. Remember that you can navigate to “Finca Collado” quickly by scanning the QR code found in the current España Discovery guide 2023 edition.
