Castell del Remei is an internationally recognized cellar where they work the vine with sustainable methods to produce high quality varieties. The geographic and climate conditions are optimal to elaborate exclusive wines, besides installations that converted it, from its very origins, into the first Catalan cellar ideated under the French model of “châteaux bordelaises”. This finca also pioneered planting varieties unseen in Spain, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon.

The history of this Catalan cellar was primarily written by two families, the Girona, who started the project and worked it during the 19th and 20th centuries; and the Cusiné, who bought it in 1982. They modernized the installations and innovated the growth and winemaking processes to meet the challenges of this industry to face the new millennium. All of this has led to them winning many prizes and joining the PDO (Protected designation of origin) Costers del Sagre. In fact, cellar “Castell del Remei” is the fifth oldest wine producing brand in all of Spain, according to the Patent and Brand Registry.
