We invite you to know the avant-garde production system of the Pago de Valdecuevas olive oil mill, to taste their specialties and enjoy the oil tourism in a very cosy natural environment. Prepare your motorhomes or campervans and head to this stopover included in Espana Discovery 2023 guide!
The history of Pago de Valdecuevas starts in 2008 when the Martín family planted the first olive trees in their finca’s grounds with a mission: To create intense and aromatic high quality olive oils. The place chosen was a privileged enclave of the Castilian desert, 850 meters above sea level, where the soil has an excellent structure and drainage. Here the climate allows optimal conditions to produce oils with a high amount of oleic acid, above the average when it comes to the extra virgin olive oils of Arbequina, a quality that turns this product into a good alternative for any diet.
In 2011 the Martín family built this oil mill, which is where the magic happens in this stopover included in the España Discovery guide. It was the first in Valladolid and today it stands out thanks to its facilities and state-of-the-art machinery that have allowed it to speed up the elaboration process of olive oil and to improve its quality. The workflow of the “Pago de Valdecuevas” olive oil mill is detail oriented and gentle, each phase gets time and effort, and it is focused to extract the best out of each olive to make a luxury end product. Would you like to taste a “Valdecuevas Chef” with a hint of almond, banana and fresh herbs to accompany your roasted vegetables or barbecued meat?
The “Pago de Valdecuevas” olive oil mill, has been awarded several times due to its olive oils. On its first working years, the mill received the international “Mario Solinas” prize, known as “the Oscar of olive oils” and in 2021 was awarded the prize to “Best extra virgin olive oil” of Spain in the “Mature harvest” category by the Ministry of Agriculture of Spain.
