The idea to elaborate the first organic wine of the Priorat started in the hills of Poboleda, way back in the year 1997. This wine growing region is one of the world’s most well recognized and most famous, and also offers travellers a beautiful vista that changes with the seasons, and will surely take your breath away. The aroma, texture and body of each of the wine varieties produced in Bodegas Mas Igneus -a stopover included in the España Discovery 2023 guide- becomes the perfect triad that represent the love for tradition, for the land and the art of making wine with sustainable methods, in harmony with the environment. Thanks to this work, the wine that comes to be in these cellars is part of the Protected Denomination of Origin Priorat.
The building was designed by the architect Alfons Soldevila i Barbosa in 2004 and in 2020 it changed its name, from "Igneus" to "Mas Igneus". It is important to mention that all the vineyards (Costers de l’Ermita, Finca Comellars, El Maset del Boixó, and Finca la Salanca) have been certified as organic by the CCPAE (Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica) and in them the varieties “Garnacha Tinta”, “Garnacha Blanca”, “Cariñena”, “syrah”, “Cabernet Sauvignon” and “Merlot” are cultivated.Remember that you can park for up to 24 hours in the facilities of this stopover.
