If you are passionate about discovering the most remote places in Spain you should visit the Torrelavit area in Catalonia. In this amazing place you will find Nadal Wines, a family winemaking project that opens its doors to the most adventurous travellers of the continent with interesting visits and exclusive activities. Get to know the history of Cava Nadal.
Cavas Nadal or Nadal Wines is a company that bases its work on the exceptional quality of its extraordinary harvests picked on the estate named Nadal de la Boadella which, since 1510, has witnessed countless years of effort and perfection in the production of vines. In that distant year, the official certification of the estate was registered in the name of Pedro Nadal and, according to the historical documentation of the cellars, it has passed from generation to generation (inherited from father to son) preserving the Catalan wine tradition. And, since then, wine has never ceased to be grown and produced on the estate.
The richness of Bodegas Nadal has its backbone in the story of Ramón Nadal Giró, who with his entrepreneurial spirit recovered the land that had been converted into an airfield during the Civil War and built the foundational cellar, the same one that today houses the best bottles of wine in the region. In fact, Bodegas Nadal's most emblematic product line called RNG honours Ramón's life and work.
Another very important point to highlight about the work carried out daily by the team of Nadal Wines is their closeness to sustainable and ecological production. In the vineyards, each stage of the winemaking process is based on a recipe that dictates the use of every natural resource with responsibility, respect and awareness. This has proudly brought them many ecological certifications from the Consell Català de Producció Agrària Ecològica.
