Bodega Ascensión Repiso – Bocos/Verónica Salgado: Get to know the hosts of España Discovery

In Ribera del Duero, Pesquera de Duero, Castilla y León, you can find Ascención Repiso Bocos/Verónica Salgado Winery, an authentic España Discovery stopover, one of the cosiest spot included in the guide due to the charisma of the Salgado Repiso family. This family is dedicated to the elaboration of high-quality organic wines. In their cellar you can learn about the elaboration process, visit the vineyard and participate in interesting oenotourism day trips. We invite you to live this authentic oenotourism experience aboard your camper vehicle.
The wines of Bodega Ascensión Repiso Bocos/Veronica Salgado, a stopover included in the motorhome tourism guide España Discovery 2023, are elaborated with traditional winemaking methods complimented by modern technologies. It all started thanks to the winemaking passion of María Ascensión Repiso, who has lived her entire life working in the world of winemaking. She works alongside her husband, Anastasio (who takes care of the labour in the vineyard and cellar) and her younger daughter Verónica, an experienced oenologist, that brings in new and fresh ideas.

Bodega Ascensión Repiso belongs to the PDO Ribera del Duero and are part of the famous and well-regarded “Ribera del Duero” wine route.
This cellar’s vineyards are spread out along 3 different zones, and we recommend visiting all of them. First is “Pago del Pinar” (that has clay and sand-based soil), then there is “Pago del Madero” (A vineyard of higher altitude, at around 850 meters high) and finally there’s “Pago del Moral” (Where they elaborate wines with body, generally Reserve wines).

The climatic conditions of the region are very cold during winter, contrasting with a very intense and short summer, which allows them to elaborate organic wines of elegance, quality and glavor. Would you like to taste a bottle of “Verónica Salgado Capricho Crianza” elaborated exclusivelywith Tempranillo grape, which brings soft tanins alongside undertones of candied fruit, roasted coffee beans, vanilla and dark chocolate?

In this stopover you can also sign up to take part in some oenotourism. Hand in hand with the person who elaborates and hand-raises the wines of this family project, Veronica Salgado, you’ll enjoy guided yours through the vineyard and production sites where you’ll find out the secrets of the cellar, from the ripening of the grape to the barrel aging process, followed by bottle aging. The charisma and kindness of the hosts in Ascensión Repiso Bocos/Veronica Salgado, is how they’ll turn this tour into a never-before-seen experience for you.
